    I’ve been thinking about something crazy lately. How about organizing an annual ’Microstock’ only conference? Geared mainly to accomplished or full-time microstockers. I imagine there are around 500 of us worldwide so if we could get around 50-100 to come I think it’d work. Thoughts:
    - get sponsors to help pay for it and provide giveaways
    - bring in a 3-4 speakers, maybe even a few agency execs to talk about upcoming changes and field questions. Experienced RM expert, editorial photog,…
    - have live on-location demonstration by pro photographer instructor
    - maybe even organize a day of shooting with models/locations

      Hmmm, good question. I’m not sure how much traveling I’m going to get done this year. Hopefully some. I would like to travel to NewYork again so PhotoPlus would obviously be a stop if it all worked out. I heard that there may not be much stock related seminars so my reason for going would have to something other than ’stock networking / learning’. I haven’t decided about CEPIC yet … Maybe a travel and shooting trip somewhere

        I have thought about the idea a fair bit and I am sure others have as well. I was in the very beginning stages of planning such a conference with another person (who was taking more leadership) then CEPIC added a microstock bit to their congress and the other person who I was ’thinking’ with decided that would be sufficient. The CEPIC bit was still more focused towards agencies and trad. shooters though and I think a bigger microstock event would be interesting and fun. I’m not sure who has the time and interest to organize such a thing though. It sounds like that is sort of what went on in Russia though
